Freedom Isn't Always Free
Janice E. California
Janice made this wall-hanging when her son was fighting in Iraq. Her daughter-in-law said that all she wanted for Christmas was him wrapped up under the tree. This was the closest Janice could come. She made one for her daughter-in-law and another for herself.
Janice printed the pictures of her son on Printed Treasures with her home Ink Jet printer. She used the I Spy template made by Come Quilt With Me to create the hexagonal shape. She turned to the scrap booking store for the Army embellishments to jazz up the wall-hanging. Like any good I Spy, there is a lot to see. Can you find the army boots? the dogtags? the army jacket? how about the picture with her son in his Mickey Mouse ears.
Currently he is safe in Germany with his wife after completing his tour in Iraq. |
